1. This privacy notice governs the processing of any personal information collected by us through our website at www.muinwelfaretrust.org.uk (‘Site’), and in our other dealings with you, our donors. Our primary goal in collecting information is to provide you with a smooth and efficient experience while using our services.

2. Muin Welfare Trust is a charity registered in England and Wales with charity number 1127233 (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, ‘the charity’).

3. We are a ‘Data Controller’ for the purposes of the current Data Protection Act 1998 and we will remain so under the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (‘GDPR’) and the legislation replacing the 1998 Act whilst undertaking charitable objects.

4. We will comply with data protection law and principles, which means that your information will be:

  1. Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way;
  2. Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.
  3. Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes.

  5. Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about.
  6. Kept securely.

5. We will only use your personal information when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  2. Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
  3. Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

  5. Information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our website services, email notifications, text shots, online feedback including blogs, adding comments and discussion forum; any other information that you send to us.
  6. We do not normally collect ‘special categories’ of personal data from our donors or users of our Site. In the event that you provide us with any special category data, we will take extra care to ensure your rights are protected.

If you are an active donor or if you otherwise subscribe to our email service, we will contact you periodically with information regarding our projects around the world as well as current appeals and campaigns. If at any time, you prefer not to receive such emails and information from us, please click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.

7. Muin Welfare Trust uses cookies on the Site. A cookie is a text file sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. The text file is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser. We may send a cookie which may be stored by your browser on your computer’s hard drive.   1. Enable the donation to be processed.
  2. Communicate with you and improve our communication efforts.
  3. Statistically analyse Site usage.

  5. Customise our Site’s content, layout, and services.

We believe these uses allow us to improve our Site and better tailor it to meet our users’ needs.

We do not sell or otherwise transfer your details to any third parties. The only exception to this is when you are using our secure online donation pages you are going through to a secure payment provider approved by the banking industry.

We will not provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of direct marketing.

Please note that we may process your personal information without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified elsewhere in this privacy notice, we may disclose information about you to the extent that we are required to do so by law; in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings; in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for purpose of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk). Except as provided in this privacy notice, we will not provide your information to third parties.

Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate in order to enable us to use the information in accordance with this privacy notice. If you are in the EEA, information which you provide may be transferred to countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the EEA. In these cases, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place by: Entering a binding written agreement with each of our international entities which adopts standard data protection clauses as approved by the European Commission. Adopting binding corporate rules in relation to each of our international entities, which govern the protection of your information and your rights.

Of course, data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet. You are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential.
